Fred goes great lengths to keep his hair and beard trimmed cleanly and frequently. He adopts this art-deco inspired bespoke suit after his visit to Emet-Selch's Amaurot, during the events of 5.0. He is deeply fascinated and enamored by the artistry and architecture of the modernist ancient city, adopting its imagery in his dress and in the design of his personal apartment. This becomes his style from 6.0 onwards, occasionally incorporating more ornate fur accents and thick leather pieces to accommodate the colder climates of the places he travels, like Garlemald or Urqopacha.

HISTORY .
Once set adrift away from his beginnings far out west, the young Frederic Volcanes, as he was first identified, had landed in the care of the comfortably wealthy Odloups and their family orchard on the La Noscean coast. Fred, despite being the singular Hrothgar in a family of Hyurs, was dearly and unconditionally loved by his Wineport community and lived an easy (and bacchanal) adolescence amongst his peers.With their father's blessing, Fred (known by some under the pseudonym Frederic Oddloop) and his younger brother Nyles left their hometown and traveled Eorzea on parallel paths of scholarly pursuits. Fred became a renowned doctorate student and published a handful of texts. Nyles became an even more renowned scholar and published even more, perhaps even cooler, texts.Waemwyb, a Roegadyn pirate marauder, traded a life of adventure on the open seas for one of leisure and domesticity upon her marriage with Fred. As newly-wedded urbanites, they settled in their new home in the city-state of Limsa Lominsa for the next five years. She was boisterous, combative, tempestuous. She couldn't cook for shit. She killed every plant she touched. She left all her clothes on the same bedroom floor she treads with her muddy, sandy sea boots. She intentionally left the front door unlocked so that wayward shipmen, much like she once was, would have a couch or a kitchen floor to sleep on during nights they docked and couldn't return home. She played with the children left behind in the city while their parents were at sea, whether or not they were able to return to their families. All these traits Fred came to dearly miss after she was killed in some sort of freakish, aetherial explosion while attempting to purchase a timeshare contract for her husband.Overwhelmed with grief and fury, Fred fell to his vices and squandered the home and fortune that he had built together with Waemwyb. In a drunken stupor, a fortuitous meeting in the Manderville Gold Saucer with the elusive miqo'te mage Z'attana presented him with an opportunity for work and lodging. Upon sailing to Hingashi and serving as a warden of sorts for the estate of Tana's Free Company, Fred furthers his newfound strengths as a knight. A darkness born of vengeance dwells and festers within him, waiting for an opportunity of vengeance to come his way. In search of the mage responsible for his wife's death, he sails to Limsa Lominsa to settle his score.After of the events of 5.x, Freddy’s fire of vengeance begins to extinguish. To atone for his violent streak, he adopts a new role as a healer. The events of 6.0 call for introspection and move his heart significantly, and his personality begins to reflect a much softer, jovial side.

RELATIONSHIPS .
z'attana kett . Eager to prove his worth to Tana and her Free Company, New Directions, Fred aspires to better himself as he hones his skills both in combat and as a housekeeper. Freddy often tries to appeal to her high-society background. However, the both of them rarely see eye-to-eye on trivial matters such as fine arts and interior decorating. winton kett . Frederic's late wife never had children, despite her love for them and her history of tending to the orphans and wayfaring kids of Limsa Lominsa. Despite his history of clinical experience with young children, Fred never exactly thought of himself as particularly good with them. The young Winton sees the Hrothgar doctor as a big stuffed teddy bear, often dragging him into physical and imaginative play. i'talian amurrican . Upon her introduction to Tana's Glee Club, Talia has continuously caused problems at Fred's expense. She finds it delightfully easy to weaponize Fred's debt and drag him into her personal schemes right under Tana's nose. Despite this, the two frequently enjoy each other’s company and Fred holds her in high regards. Talia might actually be responsible for the incident that killed Fred's wife, but it's not like he'll ever know. khan academy . Aware of Khan's condition, Freddy can't help but worry about the crystalline formation found festering within Khan's brain. Fearing it may be immediately dangerous, or terminal in its worst case scenario, Fred treats Khan with a sense of pity and tenderness that is absolutely never reciprocated. ganon highmountain . The two once found themselves seated on opposing winds at the Doman Mahjong table (a game the both of them were initially vastly unfamiliar with) in the depths of the Gold Saucer. Several winning hands and numerous other close calls later, Ganon had found herself concluding with the first place prize as Fred followed in second. The two are likely to cross paths from time to time, more likely for the joy of friendly company than just for the spirit of competition.

Hi, I'm Reuben! Freddy has been my main account since January of 2023. That's when I started playing this game, pretty much.
